Edward J. Wolf, 91, passed away on February 26, 2020. Born in Newark, NJ on January 15,1929 he was the son of the late Mary (Tremmel) and Joseph Wolf. He lived in Mountainside for 57 years and was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Edward was predeceased by his wife, Lois (D' Alessandro) in 2017 and is survived by his daughters, Christine Ludwig (Francis) of Clinton, NJ and Patrice Mascaro (Frank) of Kenilworth. Also surviving are grandchildren Meredith Bryer, Daniel (Carrie) Bryer, Michael (Diana) Bryer, Adrienne (Desmond) Herrera, F. Joseph Mascaro III and Nicholas Mascaro. Additionally he is survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Edward was retired from the Port Authority having served as Chief of Operations at Newark International Airport, and Supervisor at JFK and Teterboro Airports interacting with Presidents, foreign dignitaries and celebrities during his tenure. He loved cars (particularly Cadillacs), airplanes and the Jersey shore. Above all he loved and supported his family.
There will be a memorial service at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield, NJ on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. followed byentombment at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. In lieu offlowers please make a contribution to your favorite charity.
