Don Hinds Sr. passed away on April 21, 2026. He was surrounded by his loved ones, and left behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unforgettable memories.
Born and raised in Jersey City NJ, Don fully carried the spirit of a true Jersey kid throughout his life—tough, funny, and full of heart. He always had a natural gift for conversation, and thrived on having a story ready for every occasion. These tales would make people laugh so hard that you would have tears streaming down your face. Even if you had just met him, you would walk away feeling like you had known him forever.
Don was a devoted husband to his beautiful and loving wife, Angela for 34 years, and survived by his son, Donald (Lori)Hinds Jr., and his daughters, Linda Collins, Carolyn (Jimmy)Guadalupe, Denise (Joe) Logozzo, and Janis (Joe)D’Alessandro.
He was also a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren—Emma, Steven, Kristina, Christopher, Lauren, Sydney, Michael, Matthew, Kaitlyn, and Ashleigh - and a great-grandfather of five.
His loyal nature was evident by his career as a Bank Examiner of the Federal Reserve Bank of NY, and a proud resident of Westfield, NJ for over 30 years.
Don has always had a love for NFL football and rarely missed a chance to watch a game with his son and talk about his favorite team, the New York Jets. He was also a big fan of old movies (especially Film Noir) and the music of his favorite artist, Frank Sinatra. Don was known for singing a Sinatra song at any family function. He loved singing to anyone who would listen, and especially enjoyed serenading his cherished wife, Angela.
Those who knew Don will always remember his loyalty to friends and family, his humor, his toughness, and his ability to take over a room simply by being himself. More than anything, he will be remembered for the love he gave and the lasting impact he had on everyone lucky enough to know him.
Rest in peace our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and friend.
