Diane North

Diane North passed away on December 1, 2021 after a long and valiant fight with cancer.

Diane grew up in Westfield and graduated from Westfield High School. After stints in Bethlehem, Pa and Baltimore, she returned to Westfield, where she lived for the next 40 years.

Diane was a music major and attended Union County College and studied with the concert pianist, Arno Drucker, of the Peabody Institute in Baltimore. However, gifted as she was, Diane did not pursue a career in music. Her first and only love was her family, to whom she was completely devoted. She filled her home with warmth and character. It was a refuge for the people she loved most from the cold indifference outside.

Diane is survived by her husband of 52 years, John, her son Geoffrey (Natalie) and two grandchildren, Michael and Lily North, whom she loved dearly.

There will be a wake Wednesday, December 8 at 4-8 pm and a funeral, Thursday, December 9 at 10:30 AM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Diane’s memory to The Memorial Sloan Kettering Foundation.
