David Thomas Sharp, 73, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 after a short illness. Dave is survived by his loving wifeCarol McCabe Sharp of 49 years. He is also survived by his daughter Sharon Byrnes and her husband William Byrnes and their children Shannon and Liam, his son Brian Sharp and wife Beth Anne Sharp and their daughter Maelyn, his sister Barbara and brother-in-law Jack Tyler. His sister in law Mary Jane Sharp. He was preceded in death by his brother William Sharp and his parents William and Josephine (Doyle) Sharp.
Dave proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war and was proud to be an American.
Dave was an employee of PSE&G for 35 years. In January of 1994 he suffered a life altering injury on the job and became a bilateral arm amputee. Dave spent 6 months between Saint Barnabas Burn Unit and Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation where he learned a new life.
Dave was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He adapted to using his prosthetic arms to continue pursuing his hobbies.
Dave was a loving Husband, Father and friend. He inspired all that knew him.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 12 noon at The Church of the Assumption, 113 Chiego Place, Roselle Park, NJ 07204. A repass will be announced following the mass.
