David V. Manning, Jr.

David V. Manning Jr. of Linden, NJ passed away on June 11, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 77 years old. David was born on September 4, 1945 in Elizabeth, NJ. He grew up in Elizabeth and attended both Edison Vo-Tech and Sacred Heart. Dave lived there for over 40 years. Dave loved the city and knew all kinds of Elizabeth trivia. David retired as a Union County Corrections Officer Lieutenant after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime member of NJPBA. 

Dave was an avid fisherman and former president of The Arthur Killies Fishing Club. Dave loved his dogs and cats over the years and supported Friends of Animals in Linden, NJ. Dave is predeceased by his longtime love and partner, Gloria Nieratko, his father David Manning Sr., mother Elizabeth Manning, and sister Elizabeth Manning. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Manning and his step-daughter Melissa Fernandez.

Services will be held at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 528 Springfield Avenue, Westfield, NJ on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm with services at 6:30pm.
