Daniel Patrick Donegan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Daniel Patrick Donegan, a gentle spirit and innocent soul, who left this world far too early on January 30, 2025 at the tender age of 22.  

Danny was born on February 12, 2002,  in Jupiter, Florida, the third of four sons of Jennifer Anstett Donegan and Timothy Donegan.  He grew up in Florida and South Carolina until 2015 when the family moved back to New Jersey to be close to family.  Danny briefly attended school in Wyckoff and graduated Westfield High School in 2020.    Danny loved gardening, music, and gaming.  His dogs, Finny and Jake were his best friends.  Danny’s  short life was filled with love for God and family,  a legacy that will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Danny leaves behind his loving brothers, Christopher and Thomas Donegan of Westfield, NJ and his dear grandmother Carol Anstett of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.  Danny’s loss will also be deeply felt by his numerous aunts and uncles, friends and his 23 adoring cousins.

Danny was predeceased  by his oldest brother, Timmy Donegan whom he loved dearly, missed terribly and talked about daily.   He was also predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Margaret & Patrick Donegan, and John Anstett.

The family invites friends and loved ones to remember and celebrate Daniel's life at a viewing on February 4, 2025, between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home.  A brief prayer service to commence at approximately 5:30 PM.  Funeral Mass will be private.  

Daniel's life was marked by his compassionate nature, and it is in keeping with this spirit that the family kindly requests donations, in lieu of flowers, to privately assist others with mental health issues

We will always love and miss you,  our dear Danny boy, Your innocent soul and gentle spirit will forever resonate in our hearts
