Craig John Woehr passed away on September 30, 2020, after a two-year battle with colon cancer. He was 66.
Craig was born on July 14, 1954, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Grace and Charles. Craig was mostly known by friends and family for having a hard work ethic, strong family values, a sweet tooth, a love of politics and watching too many political news shows, an innate ability to make everyone smile, and an ability to make every topic silly. Before graduating from Central High School, he met the love of his life and best friend, Rose. They were married in May of 1976, shortly before he graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics. Craig also attended Temple University, where he studied Finance for three years, while also working full time as a Senior Bond Underwriter.
Craig excelled at his work as an underwriter; quickly picking up accounts with performance bonds for contracts of up to $10 million. In 1982, he was offered a promotion to manage the underwriting of contract, commercial, and fidelity bonds for 60 agencies and transferred with his family to Orlando, Florida. As his family and success in managing surety and specialty bonds expanded, his career brought him back up to New Jersey where he would be closer to his parents and his brother.
Craig is survived by his wife Rose, daughter Maria, his sons Craig and Charlie and their wives Katie and Pami, his brother Chuck, and granddaughter Nora.
A private service will be held for immediate family along with a Celebration of Life gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society
