Connor McTernan Obituary

Connor P. McTernan, 25, of Springfield, died unexpectedly on May 16, 2021. He was born on July 12, 1995 in Morristown, NJ to Sean and Sarah McTernan. He attended Springfield Public Schools and graduated from Jonathan Dayton High School in 2013. He was employed at Jaeger Lumber in Union.

In his short life, Connor was the embodiment of a kind and loving heart. You could always find him either dancing around to his favorite songs or playing basketball and various sports with his younger brothers, sister, and friends. A big part of Connor’s heart was rooted in Jellystone Park, where he spent many of his summers as a teenager. He was known to be the life of the party wherever he went, with his light-hearted, goofy, and crazy personality. It wasn’t unusual to see Connor wearing his favorite brand name clothes and shoes, and he would never leave the house without his bling. He was known as a hard-worker and an incredibly generous man. Younger kids always seemed to flock to him. Connor was a pivotal person in his youngest brother Collin’s life. They spent many weekends together as best friends.

Connor is survived by his parents Sean and Sarah, his younger siblings Caitlynn, Cole, and Collin, his girlfriend Jojo and her son Alex, his maternal grandparents Geoff and Sue Walker, his paternal grandmother Sue Desher, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Connor was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers Henry McTernan and Joseph Desher.
