It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected death of Bill Scheidemann, on September 7, 2022. Bill was a devoted husband to his wife Jill for 25 years, an adoring father to his daughters Amanda, 23 and Paige, 20 and the best doggy daddy to his four legged friend, Cooper. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and great times. Bill grew up in Seaford, Long Island and Lebanon, New Jersey. He played lacrosse and graduated from North Hunterdon High School and the University of New Haven. He had a successful career as a sales executive in the contract furniture industry at Knoll and Evenson Best, for over 30 years, where his compassion and camaraderie touched so many.
Bill had a warm, fun-loving nature. He always made people laugh and he was the life of the party. Bill just loved a good time. He loved cooking and entertaining, the New York Jets and Fantasy Football, golfing and going to the racetrack. Bill enjoyed checking out local breweries and sipping a great IPA. Hanging on the beach, in Cape May (his happy place), with his family and friends was a perfect day for Bill.
Although they did not all live nearby, Bill cherished every moment with his family. Bill is survived by his wife and daughters, his father George, brothers Jimmy (predeceased Rosetta), Buddy, Michael (Camille), PJ (Betsy), John (Karen), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Patricia and his brother Bobby.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 5 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 971 Suburban Rd., Union. Please meet directly at church.
In lieu of flowers, Evenson Best has graciously set up a GoFundMe page, to help support Bill’s family. Please see the attached link to contribute.
