Anthony “Tony” Messano Obituary

Anthony “Tony” Messano, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on November 26, 2020 as a resident of Mountainside, NJ at the age of 85.

Born in Hillside, NJ, Tony graduated Hillside High School, joined the Army in 1958 and served in Korea. When discharged from the military, he joined the Hillside Police Department and served for 32 years, retiring as Captain in 1992.

Tony received 34 letters of commendation from the Hillside Police Department. He earned the Meritorious Service Award four times and received the Excellent Police Duty Award.

He is survived by his wife Patricia of 55 years, daughter Gina Perrotta, her husband Thomas, and their daughter Jessica.

Due to COVID restrictions, the viewing will be private at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ. He will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ.
