Anthony Pace, Jr. Obituary

Anthony J. Pace, Jr., 56, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ after a brief illness.

Born in Union, NJ, Anthony graduated from David Brearley High School in Kenilworth, NJ.  Following graduation, Anthony became a member of Teamsters Local 807 and the Knights of Columbus, and worked most recently at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Anthony will be lovingly remembered by family and friends as a devoted husband and father, always working hard and putting his family first.  All who knew him often heard him bragging about Jessica graduating from college and becoming a teacher.  He was Marissa’s softball super fan, traveling with her to practices and games and cheering proudly from his chair.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Joellen (neéPiasecki); his daughters Jessica and Marissa; “man's best friend" Ryleigh, his sister Nicole Binondo (Ambrose), his mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Bob Piasecki, sister-in-law Karen Piasecki and brother-in-law Robert Piasecki, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Anthony was preceded in death by his mother, PaulaAnn Pace; his grandparents Paul and Rose Morphy and his uncle Paul Morphy.

Anthony was a life-long sports fan, loving the NY Yankees, NY Jets and NJ Devils. Anthony and Joellen traveled frequently to cheer for their teams, at both home and away games. Anthony especially loved spending time at the Jersey Shore, playing boardwalk poker games, enjoying good food, and relaxing with friends.  7-Eleven for slurpees, Jersey Mike’s, NJ Farmer’s Markets and the NJ Lottery have lost a great customer.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 with a prayer service at the funeral home beginning at 6:00pm.
