Anthony Garofalo

Anthony Garofalo, beloved husband of Frances (nee Incorvaia), who predeceased him in 2017, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 30, 2022.  He is survived by his son Marc, daughter Gabriella, her husband Matthew, grandchildren Joseph and Farah, sister Consolata and many in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Anthony was the fifth child of Angelo and Rocca Garofalo (nee LoPorto), and is predeceased by his siblings, Maria, Concetta and Carmelina.

Tony, as he was known to his friends and family, was born in Sicily, and came to the United States in 1957.  He was a dedicated Longshoreman, and enjoyed nothing more than good food, music and talking about Italy.  Tony was an avid sports fan, who loved watching Italian soccer and the Mets.

A private funeral service will be held at St. Helen’s Church in Westfield, NJ, at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022, which can be streamed at https://youtu.be/_oI8FBoiQvE followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
