Anthony Adornato Obituary

Anthony “Unc” Adornato, 92, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, having lived a full and joyful life centered around family, friendship, and the passions he loved most.

Born in 1933 to Filippo Adornato (1890–1978) and Anna Adornato (1909–2004), Anthony was a proud son, devoted brother, loyal uncle, and beloved friend to so many. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Carmen Adornato (1941–2020); his sister-in-law, Andrea Adornato (1947–2020); and his nephew, Andrew Adornato (1972–2025).

Anthony was a proud Korean War veteran. After his military service, he spent more than 40 years as a respected member of the trade union workforce.

Anthony loved life and embraced it fully. He was a lifelong sports fan with a special love for football, proudly holding New York Giants season tickets for over 50 years. He also passionately followed the New York Yankees and enjoyed countless days on the golf course, including playing at St. Andrews Golf Course.

But above all else, Anthony’s greatest joy was his family — especially his nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Known affectionately to all as “Uncie” or simply “Unc,” he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether attending baseball games, basketball games, softball games, swim meets, soccer games, track meets, dance recitals, or simply spending time together, Anthony was always there, cheering them on with pride and love.

He leaves behind his loving nephews and their families: the late Andrew Adornato and his wife, Allison, along with their children, Alex, Addison, and Ava; Philip Adornato and his wife, Michelle Lee, along with their children, Miro and Miko; and Christopher Adornato and his wife, Megan, along with their children, Luke and Ben.

Anthony’s warmth, humor, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family made him unforgettable to all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
