Anna “Nancy” Doyle
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anna “Nancy” Elizabeth, a loving and devoted wife, mother and nana. Nancy passed away on January 19, 2022 at age 57.
Born in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Nancy loved spending time enjoying nature with her brother Chris and sister Mary, especially enjoying the beautiful creek behind their childhood home. She attended Trinity High School where she was voted Homecoming Queen, not only for her beauty, but for her kind and joyful personality and ability to befriend everyone she met.
Nancy then attended Rosemont College where she studied Chemistry and met a fun, smart, caring (and very lucky) young Villanova man named John Doyle, who would become her loving husband of 33 years.
Upon graduating college in 1986, Nancy worked as a research Chemist at DuPont where her invention of an improved manufacturing process for photo elements was patented. She was a brilliant chemist and loved her career – but retired from DuPont in 1993 to focus on the true loves of her life – her five children.
Nancy was an incredible mother. Her selfless devotion to her children was evident to all. Although her five children kept her plenty busy, Nancy also constantly devoted her time, talent and treasure to Holy Trinity School where her children all attended. She served as a teacher there for over a decade where she loved and cared for her students as if they were her own children.
Nancy retired from teaching in 2015, but her retirement was short-lived. Upon the birth of her first grandchild in 2019 she jumped at the opportunity to selflessly serve as a full-time caregiver. True to character Nancy went above and beyond in her devotion to this, her final career as “Nana”. She converted her home to a day-care center and taught her granddaughter how to laugh, rollover, sit, eat, crawl, walk, run, read and so much more. Every day at Nana’s house was an exciting adventure thanks to the love and joy that Nancy exuded.
Nancy was just an exceptional human being. Exceptionally kind, exceptionally perceptive, exceptionally intelligent, exceptionally compassionate, exceptionally thoughtful and exceptionally loving. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who have experienced the warmth and kindness of this beautiful woman.
Nancy is survived by her husband John, their children John, Kate (and her husband John), Jim, Brian and Emily, theirgrandchildren Julia and John, and her brother Chris (and his wife Nancy) and her sister Mary. She is predeceased by herparents Richard and Mary Ann Beggy.
Private family services were held on January 26 and 27.
