Amelia Theodos Obituary

Surrounded by her loving family, Amelia Theodos passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May 20, 2024. Born May 1, 1930, in Coney Island, New York, she was the youngest of five children born to Antonio and Frances Magaraci.

Amelia was raised in Brooklyn, where she met the love of her life, William Theodos. After Bill served his country in WWII, they married and raised a family. Amelia was very active in her church where she was a member of the choir and Rosarians for many years. She and Bill loved traveling, loved cruising, and spent many hours just enjoying their backyard while sitting on their patio. Her favorite pastime was going to her weekly Bingo nights every Wednesday. Amelia loved spending time with her grandchildren. In 2011, after Bill’s passing, she relocated to Mountainside, New Jersey to be closer to her daughter Diana’s family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill (2010), her brother Frank, and sisters Josephine, Anna, and Jenny.

She is survived by her children Mary (Jim) Napodano, John (Katie) Theodos and Diana (Nick) Viscuglia, her grandchildren Michael & Jim Napodano and Nicholas, Gerald, and Francesca Viscuglia.

Her legacy is her family, all who surrounded her in love throughout her life and all who will miss her dearly.

At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Amelia’s name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
