Alvin Rotker Obituary

Alvin Gilbert Rotker passed away on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025 at his home in Westfield, NJ. He was with us for 97 wonderful years and will be dearly missed by family, friends and all he came in contact with during his life.

Alvin was born in Brooklyn, NY, and in 1945, enlisted in the Navy where he served as a RADAR operator in the Philippines during World War II. Upon returning from the service, he attended NYU under the GI Bill where he completed his bachelor’s degree in business.

After marrying his High School sweetheart, Natalie in 1951, they then embarked on a new life in Illinois, where he managed the Midwest distribution center for Maidenform. It was there that they started their family, raising 3 sons, Bruce, Marc and Paul.

The family all relocated to Westfield in 1966 where he continued at Maidenform for over 40 years, where in the 2nd half of his career he became the top salesperson for their private label brands.

Upon retirement, when he was not travelling the world with Natalie, he wanted to give back to others. He volunteered as a job and life coach for Forty Plus of NY, where he became their Chief Encouragement Officer (CEO), helping hundreds of people find gainful employment. He also was an avid amateur wildlife photographer, winning numerous awards with local organizations.

Alvin is survived by his son Bruce and his wife Janis, their son Nicholas, his wife Katherine and their 3 children Jackson, Katarina, Nathan, their son Andrew, his wife Kelly and their son Walter, his son Marc and his son Paul, his wife Vicki, grandsons Austin and Benjamin and many loving nieces and nephews.Alvin was predeceased by his parents, Moe and Sophie, wife Natalie and his brothers Richard and Stuart.
