We are profoundly saddened by the passing of our beloved Szuson on Friday, October 19, 2018, after a brave struggle with cancer.
When the phrase “marching to the beat of a different drummer,” was first coined, no doubt, it was Szuson they had in mind.
Szuson began her career as a registered nurse. To further her knowledge in the healing arts and wishing to study from “the source,” Szuson travelled to China to earn her degree in acupuncture from the Beijing International School of Acupuncture. True to her free spirit and answering the call of adventure, she moved to New Zealand where she lived and worked for over ten years. During that time, she obtained her Ph.D. in holistic health modalities, became the publisher of a wellness oriented magazine, “In Touch,” and authored several books.
Szuson was the consummate world traveler, enjoying her many trips for pleasure and to participate in numerous conferences and speaking engagements.
Years later, Szuson returned to the United States and made her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was true to the calling of service to others…to her friends and to those less fortunate. On many Thanksgiving weekends, Szuson could be found in local shelters helping to serve meals to the community.
“An angel whispered, ‘Take my hand and come with me; your work here is done.’”
Szuson will forever live in our hearts…Her father, David Gin Chew Wong; her sister, Agnes Yoon; her brother-in-law, Simon Yoon; her nephews, Justin and Eric Yoon; her brother, Denis Wong; her sister-in-law, Robin Gerson Wong; her niece, Katerina Zollo (Dennis Zollo); her nephew, Andrew Wong (Angela Selzer). She will also be treasured by her cousins and countless friends worldwide.
