Suzanne Louise Lindemann
“To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.”
Suzanne Lindemann of Cranford, NJ and, more recently, of Somerset, NJ, felt the sun from both sides for 73 years before passing away peacefully on October 30, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center. Born on December 29, 1945 in Newark, NJ, Suzanne grew up in Cranford and graduated from Cranford High School. A language and editing buff, Suzanne attended the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School and, over the course of decades, helped professionals in various fields put their best linguistic foot forward. Suzanne loved music, especially from the 1950’s and 1960’s, and seemed to be able to sing more early rock and roll songs than a juke box. More than anything, however, Suzanne loved her family. She dedicated her life to her loving husband of 47 years, Michael, and their two daughters, Michelle and Sarah. Suzanne spoiled her immediate, as well as her extended, family with infinite love, laughter, music, and culinary delights like her magic grilled cheese and velvety mashed potatoes. Suzanne loved, will always be loved, and will forever feel the sun from both sides. She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael, her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Jason Howlett and grandchildren Emily and Jane Howlett, her daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Tim Büthe and grandchildren Nina and Alex Büthe, her sisters Maxine Rogers, Linda Warner, and Aurie Apostol, her brothers John Van Gilder and Ed Warner, and her loving dog Oliver. A wake will be held at Higgins & Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home in Westfield, NJ on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and a service will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Cranford, NJ on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Suzanne’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center would be appreciated.
