Mountainside – Rita Hoyt peacefully joined our Lord on Monday, February 18, 2019. Born in New York City on April 9, 1933, to the late Hipolit and Stephanie Lesniewski, Rita resided in North Bergen for over 75 years. She was a reliable, resourceful and popular bookkeeper with Emerson Radio Corp. before retiring after a 20-year career. A diehard Jets fan, Rita savored all genres of music with Frank Sinatra at the top of the heap.
Gifted with a heart of gold and a delightful personality, Rita was an endless source of love and encouragement who championed good will with humility, compassion and generosity. An only child, her greatest passion was her family.
Adored mother of Barbara Maietta, Donald (Maria), Patricia Taeschler (Paul) and Robert (Phyllis). Cherished grandmother of Michael (Sarah) and Jerry (Jolie) Maietta, Stephanie and Juliet, Nicole Nalband (Sam), Matthew (Stephanie) and Sara Taeschler, and Phylicia Hoyt (Henry Surgent), Robert and Alyson. Dear great grandmother of Wyland, Jagger, Joseph and Juliana Maietta, Robert and Florence Taeschler, and River and Lucia Nalband.
Profoundly missed by her loved ones, they celebrate knowing Rita is in our Lord’s care in peace. The memory of her wisdom, her blessed view of life as a gift, and her unconditional love will inspire us always.
The family expresses gratitude to all the caretakers at Brighton Gardens in Florham Park and in Mountainside for supporting and protecting Rita with kindness, appreciation and respect.
