Mary (Callis) Lafakis

Mary Lafakis, 83 passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018. Mary was born on June 19, 1934, and raised in Norwich, CT, married her husband Louie who passed on June 1990. Mary & Louie shared a wonderful marriage for 38 years and raised their family in Alton, IL. Mary subsequently lived in Westfield, NJ to be close to her beloved family
Mary spent the majority of her work career,doing what she had a great passion for, as a chef of many restaurants. She had a great dedication and love for her family, friends, Greek heritage and culture. Especially the food, music and dance.

Surviving are her loving children, daughter Rena Glynos and her husband Stavros; her son John and his wife Julie; cherished grandsons, Triston Glynos and his wife Tara; Louie Glynos and his wife Carolyn; Louie Lafakis; five loved great- grandchildren, Vincent, Dante, Alexandra, Marina, and Elli.

Visitation will be held, Friday, February 9, 2018 from 10:00- 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 250 Gallows Hill Road, Westfield, NJ.  Followed by services at 11:00 AM.

Entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, 1900 Galloping Hill Road, Kenilworth, NJ

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent in Mary's name to the St Jude Children Hospital and indicate Memorial ID# 11217093
