John J. Campo

John Joseph Campo passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 11, 2018 at 67 years young. His love, compassion, and commitment to life, family, and friends will be greatly missed.

John was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 12, 1950 to Nunzio and Jeanette Campo. He was a proud Brooklyn Tech High School graduate and earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Electrical Engineering from Pratt Institute.

John retired after more than 32 years of service with PSE&G in several Power Generating Stations and various Finance Departments, and greatly known as being responsible for the company’s Credit Card Program.  

John celebrated each day of retirement with his wife of 42 years, Josette, traveling often, playing bocce and pinochle, bowling, and having weekly Tuesday lunches with his friends in their lovely community in Cape Coral, Florida. 

John enjoyed being the videographer at the special moments in many friends and family members’ lives.

John shared his immense love of music with us all and we will always remember his calming spirit and warm sense of humor.

He leaves many happy memories to his loving wife, Josette; his beautiful daughters, Christina Ford and her husband Dan, and Carolyn Campo and her fiancé Kanhar Munshi; and his adoring granddaughter Josie Ford, who affectionately called him YaYa.  John is also survived by his sister Josephine Battaglia, brother Salvatore Campo, and eight nieces and nephews.

Visitation is on Sunday, July 15th from 3-8pm at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home at 582 Springfield Avenue, Westfield, NJ. www.higginsandbonner.com

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM on Monday, July 16th at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 300 Clinton Avenue, North Plainfield, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate it if you would purchase for your own home or garden, a waterfall, fountain, fire pit, tree, statue, etc. so that each day you may see it and keep the memory of John Campo alive in your heart.
