JOAN SINNOTT WILSON               (07/25/1927 03/09/2019)

Joan Sinnott Wilson 91 of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Saturday March 9, 2019.  Born in Elizabeth she attended Blessed Sacrament School and Battin High School.  In 1951 she married Michael Sinnott, (Elizabeth Police Department Detective) in Blessed Sacrament church and they raised their five sons in Elizabeth.  She was a parishioner of St. Genevieve’s Church until her move to Lakewood in 1999.  Joan was active in the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Children’s Guild, St. Gens FLA bowling league, and the Nugent’s Association.  Joan worked for the Union County Registrar’s office until retiring in 1995. 

Joan was predeceased by her parents Jack and Mae Seip, her husband Michael in 1973, her sister Genevieve Schleck, and her son John (Jack) and his wife Maryann.  She is survived by her beloved sons Michael (Barbara) of Elizabeth, Gerard (Tina) of Toms River, Daniel (Maryann deceased) of Brick, and Brian of Toms River.  Joan also leaves her grandchildren Melissa, Jillian, Michael, Jonathan, Gerard Jr and Jessica, and 5 great grandchildren.

Joan married William Wilson in 1981.  She is predeceased by Bill and his son Gerard.  She is survived by her step children Ginny, Billy (Mary Pat), Jamie, Tim (Sharon), and John (Marcia), their children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Genevieve’s church.
