Janet Ruth Wendland

Janet Ruth Wendland, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2pm-4pm and from 6pm-8pm at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave, Westfield, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2018, 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes, 300 Central Ave, Mountainside, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

Janet Ruth was born on February 13, 1936 in Elizabeth, NJ. She spent many years in Westfield, and moved to Scotch Plains in 1983. She worked as an Assistant Tax Assessor in Springfield before retiring in 2005. She enjoyed her retirement, residing in sunny Deerfield Beach, Florida with her beloved husband.

Janet is predeceased by her parents, Arthur Lannon and Marie Lyon and her daughter Michelle Torres. She is survived by her husband, Arthur (Mole) Wendland, her son Gary Ingenito, her daughter Donna Ingentito, her daughter Cindy Piancone (Ingenito) and her husband John, and her granddaughter, Francesca Piancone.

Janet’s favorite pastime was spending time at the shore, floating in the ocean. She loved everything blue, animals, celebrating all of the holidays, and savoring a delicious dessert. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Above all, was her eternal love for her soulmate, caretaker, and best friend – her husband (mole).

Janet will be deeply missed but never forgotten by her family and friends. Her loving and good-natured soul will be with us every day.
