Jane Keane

On Thursday, December 20, 2018, Jane Keane, loving wife, mother of two, and grandmother of seven passed away at the age of 76 following a long, yet courageous battle with Corticobasal Degeneration, CBD.

Jane was born on May 13, 1942 in Elizabeth, NJ to John and Emily Boris.  She graduated in 1960 from St. Patrick High School where she met her future husband John. They had their first date on December 26, 1958 and married on May 18, 1963.

She worked as a real estate agent and then as an administrative professional at Union Catholic Regional High School before working 25 years at the Union County Courthouse.  Jane was fond of gardening and a lover of music and dancing with her beloved husband.  Jane found great joy in the time and company of her grandchildren whom she adored.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John Mason Keane of Monroe Township, NJ, her sister Patricia Boris Mulkerin and husband John of Edison, NJ, sister Nancy Boris of Roseville, CA, and sister Susan Boris of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. 

She is also survived by her son Brian Keane and wife Tricia of Mountainside, NJ and grandchildren Tommy and Sean, and his fiancé Jamie, as well as her daughter Susan Keane Jordan and husband David of Rockville, MD, and grandchildren Brendan, Kelly, Brian, David Jr., and Kevin.

Jane carried herself with class, grace, and dignity throughout her life and ensuing illness.

Visitation is at the Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Avenue, Westfield, NJ on Thursday, December 27from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 300 Central Ave, Mountainside, NJ on Friday, December 28 at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
