James Hedges III Obituary

James “Bubba” Hedges III

Jim Hedges, 85, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on December 14, 2019.  Jim, or Bubba as just about everyone knew him, was a long time resident of Elizabeth, before moving to Kenilworth.

Bubba’s work ethic had him employed at an extremely young age.  These jobs included ice delivery person, plumber’s assistant, and bartender before finally choosing his final career as auto mechanic.  His garage, Jim’s Auto Clinic was well known in Elizabeth as a great place to have your car fixed, or just to stop in for a beverage and conversation.

Bubba lived life to the fullest with his many friends and family.  He was probably happiest on a fishing boat, even if he wasn’t catching fish.  He was always willing to try new things and never backed down from a challenge.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, Jim and Clara Hedges, and his sister, Clara Ciambruschini.  He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie of 64 years, and his 3 children and their partners, Jim and Gael Hedges of Hazlet,NJ  Glenn & Lisa Hedges of Tavernier, FL, and Amy & Rich Wischusen of Cranford,  NJ.  He is also survived by 3 nephews and 1 niece, and 6 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a celebration of Bubba’s life on Saturday December 21, 2019 at the Kenilworth VFW Post 2230, 33 South 21st St. Kenilworth,  NJ  07033, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Memories will start to be shared at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital for children.
