Eric Lieberman, 47, of Scotch Plains, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born and raised in Union County, Eric was a graduate from Union High School, in Union Twp. and not long after became a police officer with the Westfield Police Dept., where his father also served proudly for 30 years before retiring Det. Lt. Eric continued his career with the department and was promoted to detective first grade and has served proudly for 27 years until his death.
Eric loved all things sports, cooking and being with family and close friends, who he always made smile and laugh. His personality was big and his heart always sincere. Eric is most proud of is two sons, Tyler and Eric who he loved and adored very much. Eric is survived by his wife Tammy Lieberman, his loving parents Patricia Lieberman and Det. Lt. Philip Lieberman, his two sons, Tyler and Eric, his Aunt Cheryl Lieberman, Aunt and Uncle Louise Schreiber and David A. Schreiber, his cousins, Lisa Ferdinando and husband William P. Ferdinando, Donna Cappuccio, Ashlyn Jones, Christopher Ferdinando, Courtney Ferdinando, William Ferdinando and Matthew Jacobi, and many extended family members, and loved by so many. Eric was predeceased by his grandmother, Maude Lieberman and his grandparents, Margaret Werner and Guy E. Werner who he loved and adored
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 9:30 am at Holy Trinity Church in Westfield followed by Internment at Fairview Cemetery on East Broad St. in Westfield.
