Domenick D’Anna, 79, of Mountainside passed away on November 6, 2018. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in Mountainside. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Mr. D’Anna worked as a Chemical Operator for 44 years with Creanova Co. in Piscataway retiring in 2001. His legacy, however, is as a property owner, maintaining several rental properties. The first job he held after coming to the United States at the age of 18 was working for a florist watering flowers.
Mr. D’Anna was an usher for 26 years at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church and volunteered at St. Joseph Social Service Center in Elizabeth. He loved gardening and dancing with his wife Rita.
Born in Ribera, Sicily, Italy he came to the United States settling in Elizabeth and then lived in Roselle before moving to Mountainside in 1982.
Surviving are his wife, Rita (Fiorillo) D’Anna, his daughters, Carmel Horinka, Cecilia Walsh and Laura D’Anna, his son, Joseph D’Anna, his grandchildren, Brittany, Dominique, Joseph, Lilyana, John and Mateo, his sister, Rose Selnick and his brothers, Vito, Peter and Carmen D’Anna.
