Salvatore T. AmalfeJanuary 17, 1922 ~ June 13, 2017 (age 95)
Salvatore " Sam" Amalfe, 95, died June 13, surrounded by his family's love. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, in 1922, he was the son of the late John Amalfe and Clementine Amalfe. He lived in Elizabeth, Union, and Toms River, NJ. Along with his two brothers, he founded Amalfe Brothers, Inc. where they worked together for 60 years, and built the foundation for his son, nephews, and grandson, who continue to set the course for the multinational corporation it is today. He was a proud member of the United States Army and served honorably during World War II. Sam loved fishing, boating, had a passion for sports (especially the Yankees), and above all else, spending time with his beloved wife Sandy.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Boccalero Amalfe, the love of his life for 71 years. He has three children, Carol Eisenstein, John Paul Amalfe, and Christine Amalfe. He has 7 grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, Victoria, Stephen, Alessandra, Kyle and Sam. His children and grandchildren were the pride and joy of Sam's life.
He was the brother of Anthony Amalfe of Tom's River, NJ and John Amalfe of Clark, NJ. He is also survived by his beloved sisters in law, Jen Amalfe and RoseMarie Amalfe and his neice Diane Campanelli of Chester, NJ.
The family invites all who have been honored to know Sam to celebrate his life and visit with the family at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield, NJ 07090 from 3pm to 9pm on Thursday June 15, 2017 and funeral service will be at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 315 1st St., Westfield, NJ 07090 at 10:00 AM on Friday June 16, 2017.
