Michael Sansone

Michael Sansone, 90, of Kenilworth, passed away on May, 28, 2017.  Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. www.higginsandboner.com. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa’s RC Church in Kenilworth.  Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.  

Mr. Sansone worked as a truck loader for 30 years for Spector Freight Co. in Secaucus before retiring in 1989.  He also worked for Breyer’s Ice Cream in Englewood Cliffs.  He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 641 in Union. Mr. Sansone was an Army veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of the Italian-American Club in Hillside.  Born in Newark, he resided in Hillside for 44 years before moving to Kenilworth. Mr. Sansone is survived by his wife Rose (Giordano) Sansone, son, Nicholas, daughter Maria Harris and her husband, George, and by his grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle. He is also survived by his sisters, Florence Sansone and Anna Galante and her husband, Rocco. He was predeceased by his parents Maria and Nicola Sansone, sister Adele and brothers, Jerry and Gene.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
