Mary Ann (Young) Bonner

Mary Ann (Young) Bonner, 82, of Bradenton, FL formerly of Union passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. www.higginsandbonner.com A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00AM at St Andrew’s Church in Avenel. Born and raised in Elizabeth to Anna and Peter Young, she attended Battin High School and graduated in 1952. She married Lawrence in 1954 and went on to raise three children.  She worked at Shor’s Drugs for thirteen years prior to opening a shoe store with her husband and eventually retired to Florida.  Mary Ann was loved by all who knew her.  Her children and grandchildren were her world.  Her life revolved around theirs.  She is affectionately known as “Granny”. She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 2005.  Surviving are her three loving children, Jim, Mike and Lisa and her grandchildren, Scott, Jessica, Nicholas and Alyssa.  A celebration of life will be held on April 8, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM at the Clubhouse at Bayshore Condominiums in Bradenton, FL.
