Marie was born August 6, 1931 in Rahway, NJ.  She lived in Linden and Cranford, before moving to Westfield 10 years ago.  She worked at L’Oréal and JB Williams before retiring from Conoco Phillips.  During her youth, she was employed at A. Lovas & Sons, the family home improvement business.

She was a former Home School Association President at St. Elizabeth’s School of Linden, where she was involved in many church and school activities.  She was a proud member of the church choir and class mom for 10 years.  In her later years she became active in the Rosary Society.  She was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for her three daughters.

Marie is survived by her four children; son, Timothy R. Healy  III of AL, and daughters, Linda Healy Ballantyne of Summerfield, NC, and Patricia Healy-Swetland  and husband Dave of Chesapeake, VA, and Coleen McDonough and son-in-law Christopher of Cranford, NJ.

Her life’s joy remains her grandchildren who referred to her as “Grammy”, “Grams” and “Graham-Cracker”; Shannon and Connor Ballantyne of Brooklyn, NY, Benjamin Healy of Enterprise, AL, and Jenna and Nolan Swetland of Chesapeake, VA ., and  many nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.  She will be missed by her surviving sister, Theresa Johnson of Spotswood, NJ.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her faith above all!    Her legacy is her love of family, life-long friendships, and the kindness and acceptance she showed to all.

A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. at her parish, St. Helen’s RC Church, Westfield, following the funeral from the Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield.  Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m at the funeral home.
