My deepest condolences to the Spirito family. Although I never met my Uncle Leo or Aunt Pat, as a grandson of Michele Spirito and Rosa Guerrizio Spirito, I felt it necessary to express my sympathy. On behalf of my late mother Rose Spirito Wyatt, I extend my warmest thoughts and prayers to her half brother.

Pat and family: It was such a pleasure knowing Leo. He was always there for me when I needed an official and to lend an ear. He will be missed but not forgotten. Heaven has gained an awesome angel. Rest in Peace Leo.

My uncle, my Godfather, Leo Spirito was the kindest, sweetest person who has ever been in my life. If I could go on to be even a bit like him it would be an honor. The impression he has left on so many people is heartwarming . He was a legend in his own time and has taught me a life's worth of wonderful lessons. I will miss you Uncle Boe with all my heart but I just know you are up there continuing to teach those lessons to everyone you will meet! Until we all meet again 😭I love you!❤️

The beloved Mr. Spirito was such a special individual. He was my sixth-grade homeroom and science teacher in RP and was much like my grandfather in look and temperament. He was always so easy going and sincere and will be a teacher I always remember so fondly. Rest easy Mr. Spirito.

I was a student of Mr. Spirito's at Robert Gordon ES in 1965-66. I have such fond memories of my awesome 6th grade year because of him. I specifically remember his showing us his movies from the Rome Olympics and how we would start each day with him sitting on a stool in front of the class reading news stories from the NY Times. We thought it was so cool that he could hit a softball to high off the Junior School wall. I don't think there was one kid who didn't love being in his class. I, along with thousands of other people, was positively impacted by his being such a great role model. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss Pat, Kate, Chris & family. The world lost a good man, one of the finest I have had the pleasure of knowing. I was lucky enough to spend countless summer weekends with him and Pat at Warinanco Park throughout my teens, best job I ever had. He was quick with a smile, selfless, humble, genuine, a man of great character. Although we had not seen each other in some time, I would think of him often, always fondly. I will miss you Leo, I am so thankful to have known you.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to Pat and the family . Leo always treated me with respect and made my career as a softball and basketball official enjoyable. When ever I had an open date I could depend on Leo to fill it even if the call came late the night before.. Rest in Peace my Brother.
