Kathleen Ann (Magee) O' Brien

Kathleen Ann O'Brien – devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother – died peacefully after a long illness on January 17, 2018. She was 84 years of age.  Kathleen Magee was born in St. John Canada and moved to New Jersey as a child with her mother and two siblings.  Kathleen worked in the fashion industry for a few years before working for Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth, where she met her future husband John O'Brien. Kathleen and John together raised four children: John, Daniel, Mariellen and Bethann. She was a homemaker and an office manager; upon retiring she volunteered at Rahway hospital and shared her embroidery skills with St Helens. She was a loving grandmother 'Nana' to 9 adoring grandchildren. Nana was a model of strength and had lots of spunk.

Kathleen is predeceased by her husband John and her sister Carol. She is survived by her brother David and his wife Arlene; all of her children, two daughters in law Kristin O'Brien (John) and Domenica O'Brien (Daniel), two sons in law Robert Campagna (Mariellen) and Tom Riley (Bethann); and all of her grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield. www.higginsandbonner.com A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00AM at St. Helen's RC Church in Westfield.
