Juana Bobea

Juana Josefa Mejias de Bobea passed away on October 20, 2017 at Parker McCarrick in Somerset.  She was 95.

Juana was born in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic to Ida and Maximiliano Mejias.  She graduated as a teacher, was married to Eduardo Bobea and they had a child.  In 1965, she and her family moved to the US and settled in New York City.

Juana taught her grandchildren to love the city as she did.  She had a great sense of humor and was kind and caring.  She had a smile for everyone. Juana was a great cook and made beautiful crochet blankets for family and friends. She felt blessed that she lived to see her great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents and her husband, her son-in-law Fernando Conde and her nephew Guillermo M. Pena.  She is survived by her sister, Dr. Isidra Mejias, her daughter Ida Bobea Conde, her grandchildren Jennifer Conde and Melissa Quiceno and their spouses Martin Bunyi and Alex Quiceno and her great-grandchildren Gabriella and Darien Quiceno and Isa and Anabel Bunyi.

Juana was a loving person who will be truly missed.
