James Robert Reardon, Jr.

James Robert Reardon, Jr.  of Union County, New Jersey, passed away Wednesday at his mother's home in Scotch Plains, surrounded by his family. He was 59. Jim was a loving husband to Theresa Reardon, nee Wright, and devoted father to James Robert III and Tara. After graduating the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business in 1980, Jim enjoyed a successful business career, including 16 years with Elizabethtown Gas Company, where he served as vice president of customer service, before moving into international energy consulting. Yet after his family, Jim was most passionate about his devotion to youth. He was a coach, PAL supporter and mentor in Westfield, New Jersey, and a leader in the Westfield High School Booster Club supporting the youth of the township. He was well known for his willingness to always help others, particularly those less fortunate.

Jim was the son of James Robert Reardon, Sr. and Patricia Helen Reardon, nee Pawlak. He is survived by Patricia; wife Theresa, son James and daughter Tara; sister Cynthia Phillips and her husband, John; brother Christopher and his wife, Arlene; mother-in-law Jean Wright, nee Falconi, wife of George Wright; adopted son Ricardo Johnson and adopted granddaughter, Victoria; and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins.

Jim will be celebrated at Higgins and Bonner Echo Lake Funeral Home, 582 Springfield Ave., Westfield www.higginsandbonner.com on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 23, at 10:00 a.m. at The Parish Community of Saint Helen in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Parish of Saint Helen.
