Eric R. Courtney

Eric Richard Courtney, 28, of Westfield passed away on October 21, 2017. Eric graduated from Westfield High School in 2007 and was employed as an Operating Engineer at the Bayway Refinery in Linden. He was an Eagle Scout, an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed the outdoors. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home located at 582 S. Springfield Ave, Westfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28th at St. Helen’s Roman Catholic Church in Westfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield. Please meet directly at church. Eric is survived by his parents, Rick and Donna (Greco), his sister, Stefanie, his grandparents, Joseph and Winifred Greco, and Marie Courtney. He was predeceased by his grandfather, the late Robert Richard Courtney, Sr. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Eric’s memory to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center.
